The UWA Biomedical Innovation team leads Perth Biodesign and the Australian Clinical Entrepreneur Program (AUSCEP) to boost biomedical innovation in Western Australia. Perth Biodesign, a seven-month annual program, has trained 354 graduates since 2018, raising over $30 million and creating 26 medical technologies. AUSCEP, launched in 2022, is a 12-month program supporting clinician-led companies, achieving significant outcomes like impacting 18,000 patient lives and raising $6.7 million. Both programs focus on developing healthcare solutions through training, mentorship, and support, without taking equity.
