Apply to the Meshpoints Fund

Meshpoints, powered by Spacecubed and supported by Lotterywest, exists to build a stronger culture of innovation in Western Australia. Our goal is to create a thriving, resilient ecosystem where any innovator or idea can succeed, regardless of sector, stage or postcode.

Who Can Apply

Lead applicants must be WA-based, not-for-profit organisations who support and strengthen the state’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Funding is available to registered Meshpoints Partners, and is designed to support ecosystem-building initiatives, including programs, platforms, research, events and activities that benefit founders, startups, innovators and entrepreneurs across WA.

A Challenge-Led Model

Meshpoints funding is delivered primarily through focused Challenges — themed funding rounds shaped by ecosystem research, StartupWA roundtables, impact reports and direct community input, ensuring funding is targeted to the most pressing needs across WA’s innovation ecosystem.

  • Backed by up to $100,000 per round
  • Supports at least five initiatives per Challenge ($20,000 max funding per project)
  • Supports projects up to six months in duration

If your initiative addresses a clear ecosystem need but doesn’t align with a current Challenge, we may still consider proposals outside the Challenge framework through our limited Open Challenge pool. If your initiative requires funding above $20,000, please contact us at info@spacecubed.com and our team can discuss your idea and, where appropriate, connect you directly with Lotterywest for further support.

Our First Challenge Is Now Open!
How can we better showcase Western Australia’s innovation ecosystem so it’s recognised as a place where ideas and entrepreneurs thrive?

We’re inviting not-for-profit organisations to propose initiatives that lift the visibility, confidence and credibility of WA’s innovation ecosystem, locally, nationally and internationally.

This Challenge has been informed by recent ecosystem research, including insights from StartupWA’s Promotions & Storytelling Roundtable, which highlighted a clear gap in how WA innovation is seen, understood and valued.
